Rasmus Alenius Boserup is a Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies in Copenhagen (DIIS). He obtained his PhD in cultural history and Arabic studies from École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris and from the University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on power and politics in North Africa and the Middle East with special attention to the interrelations between authoritarian governance and opposition politics. He is a frequent opinion writer in Danish and international media and a frequent adviser to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as a host of Danish and international civil society organisations. Before joining DIIS in 2011, he served for three years as Director of the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Institute in Cairo.
