In a context, the Middle East, where there is an apparent realignment of alliances and power relations between the main geopolitical players in the area, Egypt continues to focus on strengthening its regional and international role by betting on various matches – from crisis between Hamas and the Israeli government, the long-standing dispute over the Gerd (Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam) passing through the Libyan question – while on the domestic level it seeks to tackle the serious economic and social consequences of the pandemic by aiming for a quick economic recovery.
