Sherif Maher Hassan is a Yousef Jameel PhD. scholar at the Center of Near and Middle Eastern Studies (CNMS), Middle East Economics Department, Philipps-Universität-Marburg, Germany and an Assistant Lecturer, Faculty of Commerce, Economics Department, Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt. He received his M.A in Economics from Philipps-Universität in April 2014 and another joint M.Sc. from Cairo and Suez Canal universities in April 2012. His main fields of interest are economic development, public policy, Middle East economics and migration dynamics. He has worked as a research intern in the African Studies Centre (ASC) on the collaborative project: Africa in the world in September 2013.
