Alexander Velez-Green

ALEXANDER VELEZ-GREEN is a Research Associate with the Defense Strategies and Assessments Program. He specializes in defense, deterrence, and escalation management issues. His recent work focuses on the impact of disruptive technologies on Russian military doctrine and U.S.-Russian strategic stability, more broadly. Mr. Velez-Green has also written on Middle East security matters. Mr. Velez-Green is the author of The Unsettling View from Moscow: Russia’s Strategic Debate on a Doctrine of Preemption and From Reform to Revolution: A Schism in the Muslim Brotherhood and the Rise of Homegrown Jihadism in Mainland Egypt. He has also co-authored several CNAS reports on the future of warfare.
