Primary hyperparathyroidism is the third most common endocrine disease, while primary hyperparathyroidism associated with non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL) is extremely rare. We report a case of primary hyperparathyroidism associated with NHL. The first symptom of this patient was hypercalcemia. Hypercalcemia is the primary first clinical manifestation of primary hyperparathyroidism, while NHL may also be diagnosed by hypercalcemia. Clinically, patients with hypercalcemia as the first symptom should be alert to the coexistence of their two diseases. As primary hyperparathyroidism and NHL occur simultaneously, the relationship between the two diseases requires further study. A review of the literature regarding primary hyperparathyroidism associated with NHL was performed, focusing on clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and the connection.Background The pathogenesis of vitiligo is complex and multifactorial, accumulating evidence of increased oxidative stress and reduction in catalase levels in vitiligo patients has been shown, hence, pseudocatalase/superoxide dismutase (PSD) gel has been used as treatment option for vitiligo.Aim To assesses the synergic effect of PSD when combines with Tacrolimus 0.1% ointment versus Tacrolimus 0.1% alone.Method A randomized controlled trial that included 49 children with vitiligo with limited area (10% or less). Patients were randomized into two groups Group 1 (24 patients) were treated only with Tacrolimus 0.1% ointment whereas Group 2 (25 patients) were treated with Tacrolimus 0.1% ointment plus PSD. Degree of repigmentation compared to baseline was assessed at 3, 6, and 9 months.Results The median age was 10.05 years (range 2-18). The percentages of pigmentation on 3, 6, and 9 months for Group 1 were 23.9%, 40.4%, and 60%, respectively and for Group 2 were 23.2%, 40.7%, and 62.4%, respectively. There was no significant difference according to repigmentation percentages between the two groups (p > .86, p > .97, and p > .78, respectively).Conclusions The results showed that the addition of PSD to Tacrolimus ointment in children with limited vitiligo was not associated with any therapeutic benefit.This study evaluates the implementation of Safewards on an assessment and treatment unit (ATU) for people with an intellectual disability. Here, we review the current knowledge on anchoring proteins for some mitotic kinases, and highlight how targeting anchoring proteins for inhibition, instead of the mitotic kinases themselves, could be advantageous for disrupting the cell division cycle.Background This study aimed to evaluate the age-appropriate coverage and its associated risk factors for the primary vaccination of Polio containing vaccine (PCV) and measles-containing vaccine (MCV) through the secondary use of the 2018 Zhejiang provincial coverage survey among children aged 12-23 months.Methods Data were collected through structured pre-tested Chinese version questionnaire by face-to-face interview among 770 mothers whose children aged 12-23 months. Age-appropriate vaccination coverage was measured using Chinese vaccination schedule recommendation. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression models were adopted to identify determinants of the age-inappropriate vaccination.Results The age-appropriate vaccination coverage of PCV1, PCV2, PCV3, and MCV was 88.8%, 80.8%, 73.6%, and 75.7%, respectively. The risk factors associated with the age-inappropriate vaccination of PCV 1-3 dose and MCV included child’s gender, birthplace, living area, maternal education level, immigration status, monthly household income, participation of the pregnant women’s seminar, antenatal care follow-up, knowledge on vaccination.Conclusion The proportions of age-appropriate vaccination coverage were low compared with the up-to-date coverage. Modifiable factors were associated with age-inappropriate vaccinations. Vaccination interventions should consider identified modifiable factors to improve age-appropriate vaccination coverage.Acceptance of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination among parents and clinicians is high, but uptake remains low. Little is known about organizational and primary care team factors that influence the uptake of the HPV vaccine. Interviews with clinicians, clinic support staff, and parents of adolescent patients were conducted to better understand the interrelationships among the people and the organizational processes that influence HPV vaccine uptake at the point of care. Between July 2016 and February 2017, semi-structured interviews of 40 participants (18 clinicians, 12 clinic support staff, and 10 parents of adolescent patients) in a primary care network were conducted. Organizational structures and processes, such as electronic provider reminders, availability of “vaccination only” appointments, and knowledgeable primary care team members contributed to HPV vaccine uptake. Consistently high support of HPV vaccination was found among key informants; however, rather than refuse HPV vaccination, parents are opting to delay vaccination to a future visit.
